1. About AreaWise
AreaWise is a free information service that explains UK places. It does not list houses for sale or rent. It brings together schools, housing, safety and lifestyle information from official and community data sources and presents it as an honest, evidence-backed view of a place.
2. Accepting these terms
By using AreaWise you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
3. What we provide
AreaWise is provided free of charge and is advertising-free. It is an information service, not a regulated or professional service. Nothing on AreaWise constitutes financial, legal, property, or relocation advice.
4. Data accuracy
We present data from official UK sources (such as the Department for Education, Ofsted, HM Land Registry, Police UK and the NHS) and community-mapped data (OpenStreetMap). We label each source and state our confidence plainly. While we aim for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that every figure is complete, current or error-free, and third-party data may contain inaccuracies. Always verify important information — such as school admissions or property details — with the original source before relying on it.
5. Your account
You may sign in with Google to save places and schools. You are responsible for keeping your account secure. You can delete your account at any time by contacting [email protected].
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse AreaWise, including attempting to gain unauthorised access, interfering with the service, or using it to extract data at scale. We may restrict access where use threatens the availability or security of the service.
7. Intellectual property
The AreaWise name, logo and the design and content of the service belong to us or our licensors. You may use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes. Data shown on AreaWise may be subject to the licences of its original source.
8. Our liability
AreaWise is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be limited under English law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
9. Changes
We may update these terms or change or withdraw parts of the service at any time. We will post revised terms on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
